Weston Wood Solutions offers a variety of appearance boards for domestic and international markets. In consultation with our customers, we review each requirement and offer the best solution for the application. We offer finger-joint, softwood and hardwood solids, medium-density fibreboard (MDF) and composites.
Offered in various species and grades, ranging from clear selects to knotty with different surfacing options.
Select grades: Desired for their high quality finish and used for veneers, mouldings, furniture, windows and doors, edge glued panels, shelving and any other use where a clear appearance is desired. This is the top grade as it is free of most natural defects, thus easily stained and painted.
Knotty grades: Products range from those having inter grown and solid knots to those with more rustic appearance with natural defects and planing imperfections. Commonly used for exterior fascia, traditional corners, interior millwork and shelving.
Finger Joint Boards and Panels
A versatile solid wood alternative preferred for many construction and renovation projects. Available in raw and primed finish, these boards are ideal for general interior and above ground woodworking use, fascia, corner boards, mouldings and shelving that all require a stable wood product.
Made from kiln-dried, smooth and square edged wood blocks, they are joined together to make lengths usually ranging from 8ft to 20 ft. long. The finger-joints machined on each block generate a greater surface contact for a glue bond, rendering the boards strong, stable and durable.
Available in 4/4, 5/4 and 6/4 thicknesses, 2” through 12” or wider. Custom sizes in metric and imperial dimensions are available upon request.
Medium Density Fibreboard (MDF) is an engineered wood composite that is much denser and stronger than particleboard. It is non-structural and intended for interior use.
MDF boards are very stable and flat offering superior design flexibility. The consistency and smoothness allows for easy cutting, edging and sanding of detailed designs.
Available in raw or primed surfaces on three or all four sides, 1×2 through 1×12 in a variety of metric and imperial thicknesses.
Finger Joint Blanks
Raw material suitable for manufacturing mouldings, panels, door and window components.
Made from clear or knotty blocks depending on intended final use. Available in 4/4, 5/4 and 6/4 nominal thickness and lengths up to 18 ft.
Weston Wood Solutions stocks many sizes which we can also mould with quick lead times to customer specifications.
